IntroductionThere is a difference between building a museum and building a sports hall. But building for cultural and sporting purposes have one common aim: the creation of space for experiences – whether the nature of these be quiet contemplation or the enthusiastic discharge of energy. The buildings must support and en-hance the experience. Thinking spatially is essential in order to achieve optimum acoustic, lighting and climatic conditions. We have been involved in the design of many types of sports facilities and cultural buildings: concert halls, theatres, museums, churches, community centres, culture centres, cinemas, sports halls, swimming pools, stadiums, and Denmark’s highest climbing tree. |
