THE LIFELINE OF THE REGIONAL HOSPITAL
Establishment of two new data centres constructed in connection with the Regional Hospital in Gødstrup. The data centres are the backbone of all data and IT in the region and are therefore, for security reasons, located at two separate positions on the hospital site.
The proximity to the hospital makes it possible to utilise the hospital’s district cooling system.
The two data centres are constructed as identical buildings, ensuring a high level of redundancy – if one technical system fails, the other functions as backup. During normal operation, the cooling systems in both data centres operate in parallel, meaning cooling is provided by both district cooling and individual cooling systems. If one system fails, the other takes over at full capacity.
The new data centres are sustainable and operationally efficient and are expected to reduce current energy consumption by one third, partly through the use of improved cooling technologies such as free cooling.
The data centres have a capacity of 500 kW and are future-proofed with regard to capacity expansion.
