Ambitions translated into reality
In collaboration with our project partners, our design work establishes the technical and constructional framework across structures, building services, fire safety, indoor environment, programme and budget.
This gives the project a clear basis for solutions that are coherent, feasible and robust in practice.
Design is carried out by interdisciplinary teams and structured around our stage-gate project model. The model follows the traditional design phases while leaving room to explore options and refine solutions along the way — without creating uncertainty around budget or progress.
We provide full engineering design across all relevant disciplines. Where projects have special requirements, certified structural engineers and specialist consultants are brought in early to establish the right overall approach and ensure coherent documentation through to construction.
User needs and building operations are built into the design process from the start. Indoor environment, functionality and adaptability are considered early, so the solutions work in practice — in the completed building and across its full service life.
Creating coherence
In the design phase, we work with a high degree of technical integration across MEP, electrical systems, energy, indoor environment, plumbing and ventilation. The individual disciplines are not developed in isolation but in close coordination, so systems, routes, capacities and operational principles support one another and the overall function of the building.
Energy design and indoor environment are considered together from the outset. We develop robust, well-balanced solutions in which comfort, energy efficiency and operational stability are treated as interdependent priorities rather than competing ones.
Plumbing and ventilation solutions are dimensioned with careful attention to use scenarios, flexibility and the building's long-term service life.
BIM is used as an active tool throughout the design process to coordinate solutions, minimise clashes and give both client and contractor a clear basis for decision-making.
Our models serve not only as documentation but as a shared technical workspace where sustainability measures, material choices and system solutions can be tested and refined early — before decisions become costly to reverse.
Sustainability is integrated into the technical solutions from the outset rather than retrofitted later. Climate considerations, resource consumption and lifecycle costs inform dimensioning and system selection, so ambitions are translated into solutions that can actually be built, operated and maintained in practice.
